Small electrical recycling service
We collect your small electrical items on the same day as your textiles. To find out when your collection day is type your postcode into My Spelthorne.
Put your unwanted items eg toaster, kettle, hairdryer into a clear plastic or carrier bag and leave them by your bin on your collection day. Please remove batteries and bulbs but leave any plugs or cables attached. The items will be recycled so they do not need to be in working order. Clear plastic sacks are available from the Council Offices or Community Centres free of charge but you can only have up to five bags at a time.

This service is available to most but not all households. If a collection date is not listed for you on My Spelthorne, it means you do not currently receive this service. However, you can take small electrical items to a recycling bank or to charity shops if in good working order. Please don't throw them away.
Small electrical recycling banks
If you do not receive the small electrical collection service, please take kettles, hairdryers, irons, radios, clocks, electronic toys, phones, remote controls, VCRs, digiboxes, electric toothbrushes, shavers, hair straighteners and small DIY tools to:
- Elmsleigh surface car park, Staines-upon-Thames
- Woodlands Parade, Ashford
- Manor Park car park, Shepperton
- Sunbury Park, Green Street, Sunbury
Large electrical items should be taken to the Community Recycling Centre in Shepperton or can be collected (chargeable service) by the Bulky waste collection. If you have followed the above instructions correctly, but your electrical waste has been accidentally missed, please complete the online form or contact Customer Services within one working day and we will return and collect it.
